These centrally located hotels offer a relaxing stay with warm Rwandan hospitality, perfect for your first night in Rwanda.
After a relaxed breakfast, depart Kigali and drive east to Akagera National Park. On arrival, enjoy a short game drive before checking in for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes near the shores.
Dinner and Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge – Standard Room (B-L-D)
Akagera Game Lodge offers stunning views of the savannah and Lake Ihema, with comfortable accommodations in the heart of wildlife territory.
After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive through Akagera. Search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, rhinos, antelopes, and over 500 bird species. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the bush as you explore more of this rich ecosystem.
Dinner and Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge – Standard Room (B-L-D)
Enjoy a peaceful evening at the lodge, reflecting on your wildlife encounters from the day.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and transfer back to Kigali. After lunch, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for an emotional and informative journey through Rwanda’s recent history. Later, check in at your hotel and unwind.

The evening is yours to relax or explore more of Kigali’s peaceful streets and cultural sites.
After breakfast, depart for the western province of Rwanda. En route, visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum, learning about Rwanda’s pre-colonial traditions and kingship. After lunch, arrive at your lodge near Nyungwe Forest and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Both lodges offer views of Lake Kivu and provide a tranquil retreat with excellent service and natural beauty.
Wake early for a transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. Spend one hour with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After lunch, enjoy a canopy walk suspended 70 meters above the forest for sweeping views of the lush landscape.
Overnight at Mantis Kivu Marina Bay (Mid-range) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard) (B-L-D)
After a day of adventure, return to your lodge to relax and relive the unforgettable experiences.
Enjoy sunrise over Lake Kivu, followed by a boat excursion exploring islands and a short nature walk to observe bat colonies. Afterward, drive north to Musanze, arriving in the evening for check-in and dinner.
