Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to Rwanda. Later, drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Early morning, enjoy your buffet breakfast and check out of the hotel. You will also have a departure COVID test before proceeding to Akagera National Park. After arrival, enjoy lunch, followed by a boat trip on Lake Ihema. Enjoy a one-hour boat ride, watching a variety of bird species, crocodiles, and hippos. Later, return for a brief game drive before heading back to the lodge.
After an early breakfast at 6:00 am, head out for a morning game drive in Akagera National Park. Search for big mammals like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, various antelope species, and recently reintroduced lions and rhinos. The park is also home to over 500 bird species, making it a birdwatcher's paradise. Enjoy a picnic lunch, followed by more wildlife exploration. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, transfer to Gisenyi (approximately an hour away from Musanze). Enjoy a two-hour boat trip on Lake Kivu, exploring its beautiful islands. Later, head to Kinunu for a coffee experience, where you’ll taste Rwanda’s organic coffee. Return to the lodge for late lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, or visit Atelier de Poupee, a local workshop supporting widows. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe Forest via the scenic Congo Nile trail, offering stunning views of Lake Kivu and surrounding villages. After lunch, embark on a canopy walk through the forest for a bird’s-eye view of the landscape. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After your early morning coffee, transfer to Nyungwe Forest for chimpanzee tracking. After receiving a briefing, you will trek to find the chimpanzees and spend one hour with them. Afterward, enjoy lunch and then drive back to Kigali. Visit the King Palace Royal Museum along the way. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After an early breakfast, depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your onward flight.
