Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a Great Lakes Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe.

Today you will be transferred to Kampala, Uganda’s bustling capital city (40kms/approx. 1hr depending on traffic). From the whistling conductors on the public "Taxis" to the vibrant local markets, Kampala offers a rich cultural experience.
Visit the Namugongo Shrine, a memorial to 22 Catholic young men who were martyred for their faith by Kabaka Mwanga. Pilgrims visit this site for its divine healing powers, with holy water from a miraculous spring.
The Bahá’í Temple, located on Kikaya Hill, is the only one of its kind in Africa. With beautiful fruit trees, flowers, and manicured lawns, it provides a serene space for reflection. Take a tour of the grounds and worship house to learn about the history of the Bahá’í Faith in Uganda.
Enjoy a guided tour of Uganda’s oldest museum, showcasing ethnographic collections, archaeology, natural history, and traditional music. Explore the instruments of Uganda’s many tribes, including drums, lyres, xylophones, and harps.
After the museum visit, enjoy lunch en route before continuing the tour.
The Kabaka’s parliament, known as the Great Lukiiko, meets in the Bulange building at Mengo. Learn about Buganda’s cultural and political heritage and the history of its legislative assembly.
Explore the ceremonial palace of the Kabaka of Buganda, including the iconic Tweekobe building. Discover the palace’s history, including its role during Idi Amin’s regime, and visit the torture chambers, which serve as a reminder of Uganda’s past.
Visit the Gaddafi National Mosque, a monumental mosque on Kampala Hill that can seat up to 15,000 worshippers. This mosque was a gift from Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya.
End the day with a visit to the Buganda Road Craft Market and National Theatre Market for shopping and souvenirs.

Depart Entebbe and head towards Fort Portal, passing small villages and local markets along the way. Fort Portal, located in the shadow of the “Mountains of the Moon,” is famous for its tea plantations. Continue to Kibale Forest National Park, a biodiversity hotspot known as the "Primate Paradise."
Kibale Forest is home to a variety of primates, including chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons. The park also hosts forest elephants and a variety of birds.
