Today we will depart for the most beautiful protected area in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park. En route, we will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda. The reserve was created to reintroduce rhinos to the country, which had been extinct since 1982. Together with a guide, you will track the rhinos and observe them at a close and safe distance. After lunch at the sanctuary, we continue to Murchison Falls and drive deeper into the park to the falls for a stunning view of one of Uganda’s most iconic sights. If time allows, we’ll visit the Top of the Falls for your first look at the powerful cascade.

Dinner and Overnight at Twiga Safari Lodge – Cottage (B-L-D)

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest protected area, divided by the mighty Nile River. The southern sector features lush woodlands, rich in birdlife and forest species, while the north is an open savannah with scattered trees, teeming with giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, and buffalo. The Nile itself is alive with hippos, crocodiles, and diverse waterbirds. It’s an incredible introduction to Uganda’s biodiversity.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a game drive across the northern bank of the Nile. Keep an eye out for Rothschild giraffes, elephants, lions, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, and various savannah birds. If lucky, you may spot the elusive leopard. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls, getting up close with hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and waterbirds. End the day with a visit to the top of Murchison Falls for dramatic views of the powerful torrent squeezing through a narrow gorge.

Dinner and Overnight at Twiga Safari Lodge – Cottage (B-L-D)
